Name- Erin McCown
Where are you from?- I was born in New Hampshire and live in Oregon. I consider both home.
Your equipment- Film, always. Canon A1, Olympus OM-10, a little army of half broken cameras, available light, duct tape.
Influences and photographers you like- I’m most influenced by the land itself. I take pictures that feel natural to me – my friends and family and their relationship with the places we run away to. My favorite photographer is my sister Kelly McCown. She makes her cameras by hand.
A little about you- I rely more on superstition than skill to make my exposures. There’s nothing better than the suspense of unwinding a roll of expired film in an unreliable camera.
