Name- Javier Castán Age- 21 Where are you from?- Barcelona Your equipment- I usually shoot mixing both techniques, analogic and digital. When I shoot with digital, I use my Canon 7D, but since I can remember, I always prefered analogic methods. I started with an old Nikon F-601, then with a Vivitar SL and a Rolleiflex. Finally I had the luck to recieve a Hasselblad 500, so I had the change to develop my skills with medium-format. Influences and photographers you like- If I had to choose classics, I'd say Nan Goldin or Diane Arbus because of their shocking and, in some way, cruel images. But I'd rather say I'm more influenced by contemporary photographers like Jerry Hsu, Dash Snow, Richard Kern, Danielle Levitt or Peter Beste. A little about you- By this week I'll be done with my Advertising studies, but I realized time ago I want to spend my time with my cameras, nothing would make me happier. I know I have to learn tons of things, that’s because I'm preparing an application for an MA degree in Photography, and luckily soon I'll be able to say I am a photographer.
