Age- 27
Where are you from?- Bolzano, Italy but I've been living in Vienna, Austria for 8 years.
Your equipment- I used to have a big collection of all different kinds of cameras. Mostly because I just wanted to find the perfect match. That never really happened, so I still have 15 beautiful cameras left. I mostly shoot with my Contax T3 though as I think I work best when I have the possibility to shoot the stuff that's happening around me without planning anything and the Contax is so light and tiny that I have it on me at all times. I used to think that the camera and lens had a huge impact on the way thinks look, but I kinda changed my mind within the last year and don't really care about what camera I'm shooting with any more as long as it works well and isn't too heavy.
Influences and photographers you like- The question about influences is really hard to answer as I think that I'm influenced by everything that's happening around me. I spend a lot of time on Flickr and the good people on there are probably my biggest inspiration. I just love photographers that have a unique style. When I see pictures from people like e.g. Lukasz Wierzbowski, Noah Kalina or Alison Scarpulla I immediately know it's them and I love that. I've always had a hard time with my work as I thought that it is good, but too diverse. It's probably hard to judge when it's your own stuff, but that's how I often feel. So now I'm trying not to be overwhelmed by the aesthetics of a photo that I see as much, but to somehow dig deeper, trying to understand how a certain feeling, story or atmosphere has been caught and exposed on film.
A little about you- I moved to Vienna when I was 19. I actually wanted to apply for the art academy in Urbino, Italy, but I somehow missed the submission deadline and ended up going to Vienna with my cousin. I had no idea whether to make music or art so I went to an audio engineering school and started working as a graphic designer for an agency basically the day after I graduated school. I've been doing graphic design, music and photography ever since and am now mostly working for the film industry.
