Age- 24
Where are you from?- Vancouver, Canada
Your equipment- Hasselblad 503 cxi, Mamiya rz67, my father's old Canon AE-1, Holga, Polaroid Land Camera, Agfa Isola, and I just recently was given my grandfather's old Agfa Solinette.
Influences and photographers you like- Old Hollywood. French cinema. Mark Shaw. Peter Lindbergh. Alfred Hitchcock. Kate Berry. So many others. I love looking through family photos from the 60's – my grandparents have shoeboxes filled with photographs of my family growing up, taken with the Solinette from the 50's. They start off black-and-white and make a slow transition to colour...they are truely amazing and completely inspirational. There is such naivety and simplicity that is impossible to achieve on any sort of level without being in the moment...so fantastic.
A little about you- I'm a busy body. I work two nearly full-time trivial jobs as a server so I can continue to be a photographer. I have a mild obsession with finding expired film. I like ephemeral moments, big goofy dogs, and the sound of walking on gravel. I don't like the smell of Twizzlers in the car, public washrooms, and the saying "apple of my eye". If someone presented me with a travel opportunity, I would pack my bags in a second.
