Name- Keith Young
Age- 28
Where are you from?- I grew up in a small TX town, but now reside in Austin.
Your equipment- Contax g2, Olympus OM10, 1960 Rollei Magic TLR, and a Canon QL17 GII.
Influences and photographers you like- There are too many photographers to name off that i respect and love. But not only photographers. These artists play a huge role in my life, in every waking minute of my work and my life. Whether that be photography, design, music, or film, it comes in all forms.
In addition to that, I surround myself around friends and talented individuals on a daily basis. It adds a lot of love to and purpose to my life. It's easier to do so in Austin too.
Recently I've been going back to Robert Frank's work, Meyerowitz, and many more. In general, and outside of those specific photographers, it's lot of old 35mm stuff that i find myself looking at and following. I guess that's why I've chose to stick with that size in my work.
A little about you- My work means a lot to me. In addition to work and life. I guess that's why I always carry a camera on me wherever I go now. I wish I would've have done this earlier in my life, I have grown more in love with the will and purpose to live and make. That's what all my work is based upon in some form or medium.
It also seems like the harder you push yourself and your work, the more you learn about yourself and others. It also acts as visual attempt to document life in a weird way.
